GDPR

The EU GDPR extends the data rights of individuals and requires organizations to develop clear policies and procedures for the protection of personal data and to take appropriate technical and organizational measures. Organizations have to comply with the Regulation or potentially face fines of up to 4% of annual turnover or €20 million, whichever is higher.

The GDPR sets data protection requirements applicable to any organization in the world that handles personal data of EU residents. It includes a principle of accountability, which means that organizations must comply with the Regulation and can demonstrate compliance with the Regulation. This requires that you keep up – to – date records of processing activities that can be shared on request with data protection authorities.
